Tara LaPlante is a visual artist and producer for the motion graphics design studio Immanent. Originally from Wisconsin, she graduated from Montana State with a BFA in Painting and studied abroad at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. After school she moved back to the Midwest to continue her creative endeavors. In Minneapolis, she co-founded the art collective Offbeat Gallery and record label Timefog, which was home to many international techno artists.

Tara’s relocation to Los Angeles in 2009 formed a change in her vision. The fusion of dance music culture and visual arts became the source of inspiration for Futra. Founded in 2011, this multimedia experience brand featured DJ’s, producers, designers, performers, and visual artists through releases, podcasts, club events, and art shows. From 2015 - 2018, the focus of Futra evolved to generating large-scale, concept-driven, multimedia gallery shows. Futra’s final closing party was a two-day multi room gallery event at Jason Voss in Los Angeles on August 11 & 12, 2018. A short film on the event can be found on the Futra IG.

Tara currently lives and works in Atwater Village, Los Angeles. Her art is colorful, abstract, and ranges from expressionistic to minimal in style. Color and experimentation drives her to keep creating and her work at Immanent keeps her very busy these days. Clients include: Tyler, The Creator, H.E.R., John Legend, Doja Cat, Summer Walker, and more….
